Randy L. Bartley
President & Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Bartley comes to Coastal Energy from Erskine Energy, LLC, a private equity sponsored company, where he served as founding partner and COO for four years. He brings 33 years of diversified experience in the oil & gas industry, working for companies including El Paso Corporation, Coastal Corporation and Texaco, Inc. The last 10 years have been in Senior management positions as President, COO, and Senior Vice President. This experience includes the exploration and development of numerous major oil and gas assets both onshore and offshore, U.S. domestic and international. Mr. Bartley graduated from Rose Hulman Institute of Technology in 1975 with a degree in mechanical engineering. He is professionally affiliated with the Society for Petroleum Engineers and the National Ocean Industries Association.
William C. Phelps
Chief Financial Officer
Prior to Coastal Energy, Mr. Phelps was the Chief Financial Officer of NuCoastal Corporation and NuCoastal Thailand. NuCoastal Thailand, the predecessor company to Coastal Energy, held interests in both the Gulf of Thailand as well as onshore Thailand. Prior to joining NuCoastal, Mr. Phelps held the position of Vice President in the Energy Investment Banking Group of Citigroup. While at Citigroup, Mr. Phelps advised on numerous M&A and financing transactions.
John M. Griffith
Thailand Country Manager
Mr. Griffith has over 30 years of experience in the energy industry. He has served as a drilling and operations manager both domestically and internationally. His international experience includes West Africa, the North Sea, Latin America and Southeast Asia. Mr. Griffith began his career with Walter Oil & Gas and has worked for Zilkha Energy and both of its successor companies, Sonat and El Paso. Following his tenure at El Paso he served as Operations Manager for Erskine Energy focusing on domestic natural gas. He is presently managing Coastal's Thailand office. Mr. Griffith holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas.
Jerry A. Moon
Vice President, Technical and Business Development
Mr. Moon has a BSc degree in geology from Texas A&M University and an MBA from the University of Houston. Prior to joining Coastal Energy, Mr. Moon spent 18 years working with Union Texas Petroleum and five years with El Paso Corporation in various executive positions. He spent the last four years working as an independent and is a co-founder of Galvez Energy, LLC. He has held positions of increasing responsibility in all aspects of the E&P industry, including exploration, exploitation, production and business development.
Stephen M. Holder
Vice President, Administration
Prior to joining Coastal Energy, Mr. Holder spent 9 years as a Financial Manager for various divisions of GE Energy, a business segment of the General Electric Company. Prior to GE, Mr. Holder had his own CPA firm for 7 years, served as Assistant Controller, Revenue Accounting for Seagull Energy Corporation, a publicly held integrated oil and gas company, Controller for a private gas pipeline company and was an audit senior for an international CPA firm. Mr. Holder has been an active Certified Pubic Accountant for over 24 years.
