Health, Safety, Environment & Security Policy

We believe that excellence in HSES performance is essential for good business and the protection of our assets. Everybody in the Company has responsibility for full compliance with our HSES policy.

To meet this commitment we will:

  • make available appropriate resources to implement the policy using competent personnel and ‘fit-for-purpose’ equipment and tools;
  • ensure that all our operations comply fully with legislative requirements and associated codes of practice;
  • identify the HSES hazards arising from our business and manage/minimize the associated risks;
  • minimize the environmental impact of our activities;
  • provide training and supervision to enable our employees to meet their obligations to work safely and with prime consideration for the health, safety and security of themselves and others and for the environment in which we operate;
  • operate a drug, alcohol and smoke free work environment;
  • foster an open culture where accidents, unsafe acts and near misses are reported and investigated and lessons learned are shared;
  • reinforce to all employees that they have the authority to personally stop or refuse to take part in operations that they reasonably recognise as unsafe;
  • demand best practice from all our contractors and service providers. If we are not convinced of their commitment to HSES best practice we will not award a contract;
  • seek to understand and take account of the HSES concerns of staff, shareholders, stakeholders and the local community within our areas of operation;
  • develop and maintain effective contingency and emergency plans, where appropriate in conjunction with the authorities and emergency services;
  • ensure the effectiveness of these controls through a process of education, review and audit; and
  • set performance targets and objectives to promote continuous improvement of our HSES performance.
